03 - Light Projection

A Dell 2300MP projector was found on e-bay for $30. The color wheel was swung out of the way and the UV filter glass (directly in front of the bulb before the light tunnel) was removed to maximize the amount of UV light being projected. The Dell 2300MP has an output of 2300 lumens with a new bulb but I was reading an article that the lumen output is not the critical spec when determining whether a projector will cure resin. While intensity of overall output does matter, it has more to do with the matching of the wavelength of light the resin is sensitive to (still looking for the article).

Some SLA printers use LASERs! This one does not.

The projector was mounted on some random piece of aluminum left over from tearing something else apart and was weighted down with a very heavy transformer (Nothing but the best resources and engineered designs on this project).
